As many of you know, makers and small businesses have had a tough year. With so many markets canceled, it is more important than ever to commit to supporting handcrafted artists and businesses when shopping this holiday season.
That’s why I’m so excited to be participating in The Crucible’s Virtual GIFTY! For the first time in its 17 year history, this annual craft show will be hosted completely online, allowing shoppers to avoid the crowds while still supporting local businesses. I started participating in the Gifty in one of the first few years it was held and it was always one of my favorite holiday events of the year, until I moved all the way across the country.
Thanks to technology I will again be able to participate in the fun! Starting November 9, The Crucible will be highlighting over 80 Bay Area makers and small businesses selling things like original jewelry, handcrafted soaps, sculpture and glassware.
The Crucible is a unique and diverse community of makers, teachers and creative beings. Their mission to keep the industrial arts accessible to everyone through scholarships and other programming all while providing a supportive environment for the arts and artists of many mediums.
I hope you choose to support me and other local artists and businesses this holiday season by shopping The Crucible’s Virtual GIFTY for all your holiday gifts!
